WheatOmics

WheatOmics is an open access international peer reviewed journal dedicated to promoting Triticeae research. WheatOmics is a premier international journal devoted to all aspects of omics research and its application in wheat and other Triticeae species.

Aims & Scope

WheatOmics is an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes excellent, novel, rigorous research on the broadest aspects of wheat and other Triticeae species. WheatOmics encourages submissions that span Agronomy, Physiology, Genetics, Breeding, Biotechnology, Functional studies, Artificial Intelligence, and many more fields with a full or partial integration of 'omics'. It aims to promote the creation and application of science and novel technology to address the challenging biological issues and safeguard global food security in Triticeae and other major crops. We aim to provide authors with rapid, fair and comprehensive reviews and publish high-quality manuscripts within the journal scope.

WheatOmics covers a broad range of topics, including but not limited to the following studies based on the data from various omics analyses, or crossed with techniques/methods applied in omics research.

• Omics: Studies involve one or multiple omics, such as bioinformatics, genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, phenomics etc., and their interactomics.

• Agronomy: Studies cover plant nutrition, plant protection, plant production, farming systems, and integrated crop management, particularly those acquiring or using omics in the studies.

• Physiology: Studies explore plant growth and development, biotic and abiotic stress physiology, photosynthesis, especially those engaging omics in the studies.

• Genetics: Studies include QTL mapping, GWAS, gene discovery, epistasis, population genetics, quantitative genetics, molecular genetics, forward genetics and reverse genetics.

• Breeding: Research focuses on mutagenesis, germplasm innovation, high throughput genotyping, marker-assisted selection, genomic selection, distant hybridization, speed breeding, double haploid, embryo rescue and other novel breeding research.

• Biotechnology: Studies encompass tissue culture, somatic hybridization, genetic transformation, genome editing, chromosome engineering, and so on.

• Functional Studies: Studies elucidate transcription, translation, protein-protein interactions, novel traits and their molecular bases, etc.

• Microbiomes: Studies include microbiome sequencing, omics of plant-microbe/pathogen interaction of Triticeae species, and so on.

• Artificial Intelligence:Research involve AI application, farming, modeling, remote sensing and high-throughput phenotyping, and so on.

• Model Research: Omics studies in rice, maize and other major crops potentially improve our understanding of Triticeae species.

• Data and Tools:Studies cover omics databases, algorithms, big data, multi-omics data integration tools, and so on.

WheatOmics publishes original research articles, short communications, methods & techniques and reviews. All submissions undergo rigorous peer review.
