Manuscript Submission

All papers can be submitted by the author(s) via our online manuscript submission system available at (submission).

First version submissions must incorporate all figures and tables embedded close to their first mention within the text, compiled in the main document file in Word format. Upon submitting a revised version, authors should provide a complete Word file of the manuscript, but they are also required to upload all original source files separately. Legends for figures should be placed immediately next to the corresponding figure. Moreover, the quality of the figures must be high enough to ensure clarity during the review process.

The online submission system accepts files in Word, WordPerfect, PDF, Text, and Rich Text Format for review purposes. If your manuscript is prepared in LaTeX, you should also submit a PDF version for review, alongside the original .tex file as your ' source' file. Accepted formats for images and tables include GIF, TIFF, PDF, and JPEG. It's important to note that while these art formats are suitable for the review process; specific requirements apply for the final figure format upon manuscript acceptance. For tables, the submission system is compatible with most word processing formats. However, it currently does not support Excel files for the conversion of main text source table files. Authors should convert tables made in Excel into a word document format before submission to ensure compatibility. Supplemental materials can be submitted in a wide range of formats, including .txt, .doc, .ppt, .jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .pdf, .xls, .eps, .tif, .html, .htm, .satml, .avi, .mov, .mpg, .rtf, and .xml. These files will be available for download as necessary and are not converted into word format along with the main text, figures, and tables.

Please ensure that supplemental files are properly labeled according to the following conventions: filenames should incorporate underscores to link all sections, and the file type extension should be indicated. Examples of appropriate naming include: "Supplemental_Fig_S1.pdf", "Supplemental_Fig_S2.eps", "Supplemental_Table_S1.eps", "Supplemental_Table_S2.jpeg","Supplemental_Movie_S1.mov", "Supplemental_Methods.pdf", etc.
